3/4 Depth Medium Brood Comb Foundation is available in either 10 sheet packs, per kg (on purchases of 3kg or more) and per 15kg carton.
There are approx 21 sheets per kg; approx 315 sheets in a 15kg carton. Sheet size: 422mm x 145mm.
Manufacture Process: Only Pure Beeswax sourced from beekeepers throughout New Zealand is used. The beeswax used in the manufacture of comb foundation is firstly heated to approx 110 deg C before being micro-filtered to remove all dross and moisture. This ensures that when you purchase out beeswax comb foundation, you are purchasing 'pure beeswax'.
This filtered 'liquid beeswax' then passes to the "Weed Process" sheeting machine. This machine converts it from a liquid beeswax into a continuous flat beeswax sheet and is one of the secrets of making such high quality comb foundation. During this process, the beeswax gains strength and elasticity to the point where a piece of cold comb foundation can be scrunched up and flattened out without breaking.
The rolls of sheet then pass to the automatic milling machine. The pure beeswax sheet passes between two precision engraved rollers which imprint the beeswax pattern onto the beeswax. The continuous sheet is then cut to width before being cut to length. The finished sheets are then weighed before being packed in cartons. Throughout the process, stringent quality control checks are continuously carried out.
The life of our Comb Foundation if stored in its original packaging in clean, dry conditions is indefinite.
